QIGONG
If you have been told to rest but rest is not restoring you, Qigong might be the missing piece. It is a gentle form of exercise and, for many people, far more effective. A way of working with your body's energy rather than pushing against it.
I came to Qigong because I needed something that worked with my body, not against it. As I practised regularly, I realised it wasn't just giving me more energy. It was helping me reconnect with my body, release the tension I hadn't even realised I was carrying, and feel more like myself again.
what is qigong?
The word Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) comes from two parts. Qi refers to the body's natural energy, and Gong means skill developed through regular practice.
Qigong is the practice of working with that energy through gentle movement, breathing and awareness.
As you practise, you're encouraging your circulation, supporting your nervous system and helping your body let go of physical tension. Rather than pushing your body harder, Qigong helps you work with it, supporting the natural processes that keep you healthy and well.
It's one of the reasons so many people find they feel calmer, sleep better, move more easily and have more energy over time.
how does qigong work?
Qigong combines gentle movement, relaxed breathing and focused attention. When these come together, they support both your mind and body at the same time.
The movements help release physical tension, your breathing encourages your body to slow down, and your focus helps quieten the constant stream of thoughts that can leave you feeling drained.
Together, they create the ideal conditions for your body to restore its natural flow of energy and support your overall health and wellbeing.
One of the things I love most about Qigong is that almost anyone can do it. Whether you're living with a long-term health condition, recovering from illness or simply feeling exhausted, the movements can be adapted to suit you. They can be practised standing or seated, so you can work with your body, wherever you're starting from.
what qigong can help with
With consistent practice, Qigong can support the body in recovering from illness and injury and in improving both physical and mental wellbeing. Research studies have shown that regular Qigong practice can:
• Reduce cortisol, the body's primary stress hormone
• Lower blood pressure
• Strengthen the immune system
• Improve cognitive performance and mental clarity
• Improve muscle strength
• Improve sleep quality
• Improve balance and coordination

how i use qigong in my work
I teach Qigong as part of The Living Proof Method, bringing it together with EFT to help women with autoimmune conditions and persistent low energy restore their energy and enjoy more of the life they want.
Alongside my one-to-one work, I run weekly Qigong classes in Beaconsfield. They're a gentle, supportive place to experience the practice for yourself, whether you're completely new to Qigong or returning after some time away.
Every class is suitable for all abilities and can be practised standing or seated. There's no pressure to keep up or get everything right. My aim is simply to help you reconnect with your body, release tension and leave feeling calmer, more energised and better equipped for the rest of your day.
What my clients are saying
"Qigong is an amazing form of exercise. After every session with Jane I feel relaxed and energised."
“You have to try the class, I really enjoy Qigong - it is for everyone. It makes me feel calm & better in myself. The standing movements are simple to follow. Jane is a great teacher who explains why we do each move and particularly about listening & adapting to your own body.”
“I attended my first Qigong class today with Jane and instantly felt more energised and positive than I have in a while. Living with a terminal cancer diagnosis is hard, so finding something that releases negative energy is a great tool to have. I look forward to joining in more classes.”
